An AI-powered codegen approach to converting Twig components into SDC, faster transition, fewer errors, and a future-ready Drupal component system.
- Basic understanding of Twig templating in Drupal
- Some exposure to Single Directory Components (SDC) is helpful, but not required
- Interest in automation or AI-assisted developer workflows
While transitioning a large design system to Single Directory Components, we quickly realized how much time was being lost repeatedly doing the same work for every Twig component. The process was manual, error-prone, and difficult to keep consistent across teams. This realization led us to build a deterministic, AI-powered codegen tool that analyzes existing Twig components and generates SDC-compatible components automatically.
In this session, we share how this approach reduced transition effort, enforced consistency by default, and allowed teams to focus on improving components instead of rewriting metadata.
- See how AI-assisted automation can safely accelerate Twig-to-SDC transition
- Understand which parts of the process can be automated and where human review is still essential
- Take away practical, reusable ideas that can be applied to real-world Drupal projects
